Dr. Cooper is licensed as a Clinical Psychologist in California (License PSY 19966). She has been practicing psychotherapy for over 10 years.  in addition to running an independent practice in Menlo Park,  Dr. Cooper is a faculty member of the Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) Institute.  Fueled by a rich passion for AEDP and its focus on connection, emotional healing and transformation, she moved to become AEDP certified in 2008 and then accepted a faculty position in 2009.  


She received her Doctorate in Psychology at The Wright institute in Berkeley, CA, where she has served as adjunct faculty and has supervised graduate students.  She aims to help cultivate the growing interest between AEDP and The Wright Institute, where fertile ideas for research, supervision and promoting Diana Fosha’s work are percolating. 


Besides her strong passion doing psychotherapy, Dr. Cooper enjoys teaching.  She works as a consultant, training therapists in AEDP.  She also gives workshops and presentations to parents, therapists and graduate students.  She has presented both locally in the Bay Area and overseas in Manila, Philippines.  


Dr. Cooper recently served on staff at Kaiser Permanente for three years, working in an outpatient clinic for adolescents with life threatening eating disorders and their families.  She spent one year as a consultant, training psychologists and staff on adolescents, and their families, with eating disorders.


In addition to her work in psychology, Dr. Cooper earned an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering and a Master's degree in engineering from the University of Michigan.  She has worked in the Silicon Valley high tech industry.
